I don't know about "next spring" but that could mean either Spring 2019 or Spring 2020 but I have the feeling that it could be the latter.

It's confirm that it's spring 2019.

Oh BTW, some Q&A:

Q: Will they have English patch for Japanese version?
A: No, and I haven't seen any VN in Japanese that actually have patch to magically make it English anyways, so...

Q: Will there be censorship?
A: In the worst case scenario, the game will retain the mosiac on the genitals, so nothing major going to happen, even in steam.

Q: Will DLCs be included?
A: Maybe only expansions and append disc but not small DLCs.

"Maybe only expansions and append disc but not small DLCs."

Oof, that's gonna sting, given that the crossover stuff had some of the best clothing pieces.

It getting onto steam itself is somewhat interesting, seeing as valve has been seesawing on the subject of games with nudity.

Actually, if you look at how KISS sell CM3D2 and COM3D2 at DLsite, Getchu and etc, you will see only the base game and append disc sold there, but not the small DLCs like YCS and H-Event packs because all of that are being sold in S-Court shop. So, yeah, you are looking at the same situation with this English release.

Yeah... it will be interesting.

When I asked at the last Nutaku AMA on reddit, they said the release of COM3D2 was planned for spring 2019, so I'm fairly sure KISS meant that it is releasing this year.

I just hope the translation will be good. I kinda expected that they wouldn't release small DLCs like the collab ones.

NEVER EVER am I going for the Steam version. The way Steam took measurements on some VN and other anime games just some time ago, also their weird policies and even worse the way you can't change shit (mod) in their games is frustating as hell. You'd have to be totally insane to even consider adding COM3D2 to your Steam wishlist.

Also I'm just going to buy it to support KISS. And not "Counterstrike: Battle Royale / Artifact PayToPay"-GabeN.

I am just going to get it from the official site, but also only if you can mod the game, too. Well, I have enough time to think about this, since "next" spring is definitely 2020 (I hope for a spelling error...).

Steam workshop support could be a boon as far as mods go but it could make a mess of things too. They probably won't be able to bring any collaboration DLC to Steam on account of licensing.

COM3D2's already on Japanese dlsite so it'll probably appear on English dlsite once it's ready.

I was really unimpressed with the translation in the eng demo, but I know they took feedback so hopefully its good/coherent now. I wish my translation skills were/are good enough to offer help though. I like.. unironically really love COM3D2 so I would've loved to give a helping hand if I could have.

So does this mean for small DLC's we need to redownload the english patched version's?

I'm not sure what you mean by that, but the TL;DR of that is that it will be like the Japanese version of COM3D2 where the main game and the expansion/append disc on most eroge game online shop like Getchu, DLsite, etc., while small DLCs like YCS, Event Pack and etc., will be sold in S-Court online shop instead.

COM3D2's already on Japanese dlsite so it'll probably appear on English dlsite once it's ready.
if there's a demand for it, then KISS will put it there. It's not as simple as "hey, there's an English version of DLsite, let's put it there" kind of situation.

At the very least KISS is willing to provide an English version to those people who really don't bother to spend a portion of his/her lifetime to learn Japanese and get a quality translation by themselves.

Even if fan translation are better, who would be willing to spend their time translating the game without getting a dime out of it? We have even ask the translator in fuwanovels forum and no one willing to help us unless they get a commission for it. Look at those HF translators, they just abandon the project because they can't keep up with the updates.

Even plugins are not perfect to be honest. Like, translating all the same words without an effort is nice but the use of that same word has different meaning on different situation, that is very bad.

And look at the thread that I offer translation job for any volunteer.... no one came to help me. No one post any of their projects on my thread to share.

How are we going to get a high quality of fan translation if the situation is like this...?

Ultimately the problem in regards to that kinda boils down to a simple triangle...

There are those who want to help and have time but want money
There are those who have money and want to help but have no time
There are those who who have money and time but don't want to help

Sadly, I fall into the 2nd category.

Exactly like Awe-Some 247 already said, personally I am just glad they release something. I don't want to sound mean or something now, but they are Japanese. If you let out the big international companies, most japanese game studios don't give a shit about foreign audience. Not even speaking about Eroges here, but games in general. The fact that they recognize us (the international fanbase) and they bring out that ENG version is a huge step not only for KISS but also for the history of Eroge in general. I don't care if the translation is not "perfect", maybe even not "good". As long as I can understand what they are talking about, I am happy.

I am going to be honest. I always considered buying stuff, but in the end, I never did. But now I am happy that I didn't buy anything. Because I am going to buy the shit out off everything ENG version related they release. So I can show them that at least one person is happy about this "going international". ;)

I'll drink to that and follow suit as well. Gotta give KISS our love and all.

It is amazing that it will include expansions.
I fully expected this will be just base game and nothing else and they would release it to die because most of the people would play current version in japanese (and by that pirate).

As long as it has all expansions released until now this will be great way to get into COM3D2.
I hope their DLC prices will not be as outrageous as japanese because i doubt they will earn much money on those in western market.

Also i expect height lock. No way they will release on something like steam when yo can easily make 10 year old looking kid.
